Anterior ulnar recurrent artery at a glance
- What it is
- The anterior ulnar recurrent artery is a small branch of the ulnar artery that supplies the elbow.
- Location
- It arises from the ulnar artery just below the elbow, ascends between brachialis and pronator teres, and anastomoses with the inferior ulnar collateral artery in front of the medial epicondyle.
- Function
- It supplies the muscles and elbow joint near the medial epicondyle.
- Body system
- Cardiovascular · paired (left and right)
- FMA ID
- FMA22802 (Foundational Model of Anatomy)
Key facts
- It takes part in the arterial network around the elbow.
