What you can learn here

The resources cover human body systems and selected aquatic animals, including fish, sharks, octopuses, squid, jellyfish, sea stars, and clams. Rotate a model, reveal deeper layers, and select structures to read their location and function. Each guide provides additional explanations and, where available, labeled diagrams and review questions.

Guided virtual dissections organize the same anatomy into a sequence suitable for preparation and review. They can also support students studying without a physical specimen. A classroom instructor determines whether a virtual exercise meets the requirements of a particular course.

How the models are made

The aquatic-animal models are schematic teaching illustrations. Some structures are enlarged or simplified so they remain visible and selectable. Each guide identifies its reference species and explains important differences from related animals. Model proportions are not specimen measurements.

The human model uses BodyParts3D anatomical meshes from the Database Center for Life Science under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. The meshes have been simplified and recolored for the web. The reference is an adult male and the available presentation does not include every anatomical structure; the human anatomy page describes the specific omissions.

Sources and responsibility

The guides link to scientific papers, university teaching materials, museum resources, and reference texts. AI tools have assisted with writing and development. AI assistance does not itself establish scientific accuracy or expert review. The Editorial policy explains source selection, model limitations, and how to report a concern.

The site provides educational information. It does not provide personal medical or veterinary advice or replace supervision during a laboratory exercise. Read the Educational disclaimer when using the guides.
