Gastroepiploic vein at a glance
- What it is
- The gastro-epiploic veins accompany the arteries along the greater curvature of the stomach.
- Location
- The right gastro-epiploic vein drains to the superior mesenteric vein, often through the gastrocolic trunk (of Henle), and the left to the splenic vein.
- Function
- They drain the greater curvature of the stomach and the greater omentum.
- Body system
- Cardiovascular · paired (left and right)
- FMA ID
